
Tiffany and I learned Saturday while visiting Grandma J that the diamond grandma gave me to propose with is older than I originally thought.
Until then, I believed my grandfather Roy bought it and used it to propose to my grandmother and then she handed it down for me to use. It turns out the diamond was first purchased by grandpa’s father (my great grandfather) who used it to propose to his mother.

A photo of the engagement ring, which was glaringly omitted from the series of proposal pictures, has been added to the gallery.
The ring was originally given to my grandmother by my grandfather when he proposed and features a “European cut” diamond. I merely had the ring resized. Tiffany will make some minor adjustments, like reducing the number of prongs from six to four, but will likely leave it in its original state.

In the last 10 days I have vacationed in Las Vegas, turned 30, had my brand newish 2007 Civy backed into by a neighbor and most importantly, asked Tiffany to marry me.
It’s been quite a ride.
A Christmas morning brunch set the stage for the event as my grandma J and Tiffany’s Mom, step dad and brother all gathered at our house to open presents.
