Integrate your IM, e-mail and social networks

If your IM software leaves something to be desired, or is dead to you altogether, you may want to give Digsby a shot.

It’ll even show you if your contacts have uploaded any new photos to Flickr and display the latest thumbnails in their photostream.

In another large step forward by gaming geeks in their quest to take over the world, Merriam-Webster Inc. officially crowned “w00t” the word of the year according to Reuters.

The U.S. dictionary makers said via TeamSpeak that “w00t” pwned the runner-up word “facebook,” a verb meaning to use the social networking site.
