Columbus opinions: Gays are going to burn

The sign pictured above left was in front of Havens Corners Church in Blacklick, Ohio, as reported by NBC4 Columbus.

Unbelievable. The economy is in the shitter, America’s children are dieing in Iraq, the collective world hates our country, we’re nearing the precipice of one of the most important elections in the history of the U.S. and this Columbus church is worried about gays. When I checked their Web site, it was down because of exceeded bandwidth.

Repeating is believing

ChimpTiffany and I went to Easter service yesterday along with my uncle, aunt and two cousins. We hadn’t seen them in a little while so when they invited us over for church and brunch, we took them up on the deal.

Hanging with Tom, Tina, Abby and Ali was fun, as always. Picking on the girls and beating them at Nintendo Wii is enjoyable any day.

Because of the upcoming marriage, which is still 15 months away, Tiffany and I have been trying to attend church as often as possible. We have to show up enough to get them to wed us crazy kids. Or we can not go at all and pay them a $1,000 fee.

Easter is overrated

Cadbury EggI remember getting pretty excited about Easter when I was a kid but looking back, I have no idea why.

Easter is one of the lamest holidays ever.

As a kid, you look forward to the way-too-absurd-to-be-true rabbit to show up and leave candy for you. Then you get up, eat a couple Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, get forced into your uncomfortable church cloths and go spend an eternity being quiet while on a sugar buzz. Then you come home and eat some ham you could care less about because you just want another Cadbury Egg.
