Whereas, on the thirteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord two thousand and seven, a proclamation was issued by Rick, containing, among other things, the following, to wit:
“That on the twenty-third day of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand and seven, I have accepted that I then, thence forward, and forever shall be domesticated; and Tiffany, as the executive government of the household, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of such person and will do no acts or act to repress such person in any efforts they may make for his actual freedom. I accept valiant courage and steadfast will all things suburban such as grill assembly, lawn mowing, car washing, laundry sorting, frame hanging, proper toilet seat positioning, table manners, cleanliness, heavy lifting, wine bottle opening and all tool using.”

Hello and welcome to my blog. That’s right, my blog. The idea of a blog seemed appealing to me, so I thought I’d toy with the idea a little, then a little more, then more still, until finally, I ended up writing the words you are reading right now. I’m not sure where I’ll go with this exactly. It’ll probably always be a work in progress, if it gets off the ground at all. But it’s something.
The main section of Sprkus.com doesn’t get updated as often because I’m not going out four nights a week anymore. Good for my wallet, bad for my Web site. And the Message Board is dead. Was always dead, really. Most days if you looked at the topic lineup where it tells you who the last to comment was, it would be a vertical line of “Rick”s all the way down the page. So it makes sense to share things in the form of a blog as opposed to message board topics.
I always felt I needed a venue to talk about certain events in addition to posting photos of them. With this blog, I can link to and from pictures at will and not be confined to the small “This Just In” section, which I’m sure will be replaced. This blog might replace the message board entirely — one decision of many I have yet to make. Additionally, even if nobody reads the blog, at least I’m writing in my spare time — a skill I should always be improving. After all, that’s a large part of how I earn a living.
Whether or not anyone SHOULD be paying me… well, that’s another matter.
