Buy from iTunes, die with iTunes

A couple weeks ago I read an article from PC World that suggested MediaMonkey as an alternative to iTunes. I like to play with shiny new programs so I decided to give it a shot.

After installation, I realized that most of the music I have bought and downloaded from iTunes didn’t even show up in MediaMonkey. The copyright protection tied into my music files wouldn’t let me change players, even on the same computer. Even though I bought and own the music, I wasn’t allowed to play them wherever I wished.

That really sucks.

Google search: Thanksgiving turkey

Tiffany and I decided to invite our families over for Thanksgiving this year and I’ve taken on the task of the turkey. Since we don’t yet have a turkey fryer (danger = fun), I’m going to cook the bird the old fashioned way. Problem is, I don’t have an old-fashioned way. I’ve never cooked a turkey before.

I’ve found a couple recipes on allrecipes.com (here and here) one of which I may use. Unless somebody has a better suggestion.

Wait, Iams is bad for dogs?

We’ve been feeding Fitz Iams Smart Puppy for the past month and a half because I always thought Iams was healthy for your dog. I went to PetPeople today during lunch to pick up some more and was surprised that they didn’t carry the puppy food. They had the Iams adult food, but not the puppy.

Next mole removal earns me a set of steak knives

Dr. Luca removed another mole today making the total somewhere between 10 and 15. This one was on my lower back. Better to be safe than sorry. It’s all precautionary because of my pale skin, although one mole they removed a few years ago was a basal cell carcinoma, which sounds far worse than it is. I could have quite possibly never had it removed and at worst, the thing would have just stayed a black mole in its entirety.

Let’s just say if somebody with malignant cancer heard me call myself a cancer surviver, they’d kick me in the nuts. Hard.
