What I’m playing: Fallout 3, WotLK

Fallout 3 has been taking up the majority of my gaming time over the last couple weeks and it’s going to take a lot MORE of my time if I ever get to the end of the game.

When I purchased the post-apocalyptic epic at Target, the cashier asked me if I was ready to invest 100 hours into the game.

He was right.

Without looking at my Xbox 360 dashboard, I’m guessing I’ve played for around 15 hours so far and I still feel like I’m just getting started. It’s been a challenge so far trying to piece together weapons and ammo to survive against radiated mutants and raiders. If not for my trusty sledgehammer, I would have been in serious trouble. I should have given it a name by now.

Last night, however, I salvaged a combat shotgun off a raider after blowing him up with a frag grenade. The thing owns.

I also saved Megaton by disarming the nuclear bomb, opting to collect good karma. The game allows you to side with good or evil. Instead, I could have blown up the whole town intentionally.

Tomorrow night I’ll probably switch gaming gears for a little while as World of Warcraft’s Wrath of the Lich King expansion launches. The added content looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun and I haven’t decided which level 70 character I’m going to take to 80 first, my priest or my paladin. Maybe instead I’ll just roll a new Death Knight like everyone else.
