Oh look, Josh is a state representative now

I first noticed this when Ethan, and old fraternity brother, became a supporter of his on Facebook, but Josh Mandel’s a state representative for Lyndhurst.

I know Josh from freshman classes at Ohio State and bumping into him around campus. Also, I interviewed him for a personality profile in one of my journalism classes. I believe he was the president of OSU’s student council at the time. Unfortunatly, I couldn’t find that article on my computer last night so I’m sure it’s lost forever.

His name also crossed my desk as part of an article I’m publishing in the office this Friday about access to governmental records.

I was never close to him by any means, but it’s nice when you see that someone you’ve known is experiencing some sort of success.

Turns out he served two voluntary tours as a Marine in Iraq and now it looks like he’s up for re-election. And has the support of the Plain Dealer.

Fox News even broadcasted a small feature about Josh when he returned from the war:
