Everybody’s favorite Ohio State University band of the late 90s, O.A.R. — no hard feelings Red Wanting Blue — are celebrating their homecoming tonight in Columbus at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion, or “The LC” if you’re nasty. And their making local fans pay more for the pleasure.
One ticket will cost you $34.50 and if you buy them through Satan Ticketmaster and pick them up via will call, expect to shell out $41.75. Take a friend and expect to pay $83.50.
However, if you instead make the trip to Indiana for tomorrow night’s show or Cleveland to watch them Saturday, O.A.R. is only charging $30 per ticket. Ticketmaster, like your loser uncle, sticks it to you by raising the convenience charge up to $9.40 for those shows totaling $78.80 for two tickets.
It wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t point out that O.A.R. is charging $32.50 per ticket for Sunday in Rochester, N.Y., and a minimum of $42.00 for their show in Atlantic City, N.J. But it’s important to note that O.A.R. is from Maryland originally and has a healthy following in the Northeast. Also, the Atlantic City show is at the House of Blues, which is probably a posh venue.
I realize that it seems to come down to supply and demand, but it would be nice if O.A.R. gave a little back to the city that helped make them famous.
O.A.R. stands for Of A Ripoff perhaps?
“I say ‘Of,’ you say ‘A,’ I say ‘Revolution’ and you say” Cha, right!
