This is the Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley, where our wedding will be held next June.
We originally planned on getting married at St. Francis of Assisi in Victorian Village, but whoops! That’s Comfest weekend and the whole neighborhood is shut down. But I’m more happpy with our alternative although I haven’t seen it in person yet — Tiff and her mom booked it today during lunch.
The place is directly behind St. Charles Prep, the home of our reception, so the drive for guests will literally be less than a minute. Hell, it’s walkable.
And speaking of Hell, the mansion is supposed to be haunted! According to ForgottenOH.com, Mr. Jeffrey, who owned a Columbus factory which created mining hardware, hung himself and willed his mansion to the city of Bexley.
They say you can still catch a glimpse of him hanging in the house and hear his whistles through the halls.
Here are a couple more pics:
Weather permitting, the plan is to have the ceremony outside. Oh yeah, and we’re working on booking Rev. Eric who says he has a “Gold Package.”

So how did the wedding go? I just visited the mansion this weekend and told my boyfriend that i wanted to get married there- then he told me about the hainging. I dont know if i would want to get married at a place where a man hung himself but it was so pretty there!
The wedding’s not until 2009. We have no problem with Mr. Jeffrey’s death — somebody’s died everywhere.
