A little more than two months after I submitted my resume online to the Ohio State University, and after many e-mails back and forth, I received the following message yesterday afternoon:
Hi Rick,
I’m sorry to tell you that the Web Communications Specialist position has been canceled. There is currently some reorganization going on in our department; positions are shifting and changing. Because of that, we have decided to rethink the Web Communications Specialist position. We are not sure whether we are going to re-post it at a later date, completely re-tool it, or delete it altogether.
Thank you for your application and your patience throughout this process. I apologize it’s turned out this way; however, I encourage you to continually check the OSU jobs site. We were impressed by your experience. So while this position may not have worked out, I’m hopeful that another one will for you.
Regards,
OSU Vice President of Something
At least now I can wear my nice shirt to work because I know I’ll have enough time to get it dry cleaned before my next job interview.

Bummer yo… I know you were excited about it… OSU Vice President of Something… sounds official… you sure somebody wasn’t just jerking you around.
