Andy, Katie get engaged

Katie and Andy

I learned from Jay yesterday that Andy and Katie got engaged about a month back. I sent Andy a congratulatory text message, to which I received no reply so maybe Jay was just screwing with me.

But according to Jay, Andy and Katie have yet to set a date and are shooting for late 2009. So the 2009 wedding total is now Gerrit on June 20 followed by me on June 27 followed by Andy TBA.

Here’s my mutation from Spore’s Creature Creator. His name’s Ducknut because he has a bill and is a bit of a ducking nut.

Comfest forecast looking dreary

The annual Columbus community festival, or Comfest, is this weekend and Weather.com calls for rain on Saturday, the festival’s most highly-attended day.

Tiffany and I planned on shooting down there on Saturday afternoon for a beer and some junk food and people watching. Baumann, Derrick and Jay both asked me if I were going already. Best. Action. Figures. Ever.

Big Lebowski Action Figures

Alive picks top Columbus albums of last 30 years

Kryptonite by GauntThe Columbus Alive named Gaunt’s Krytonite the best Columbus album of the last 30 years. My colleague and former intern Chris Deville compiled the top 100 entries.

I’ve never heard the album, so I’m going to have to get my hands on it. Other notable albums on the list (i.e. bands I’ve hard of) are Earwig’s Perfect Past Tense at no. 8, Howlin’ Maggie’s Honeysuckle Strange at no. 17, O.A.R.’s The Wanderer at no. 23 and Watershed’s The More It Hurts, The More It Works at no. 69.

Bands not appearing on the list are Red Wanting Blue, The Pike Band and House of Cards.
