A bird slammed itself into my office window this morning and lay, presumably dead, in the parking lot below.

I say presumably because about 30 minutes after I took the above photo, the bird’s body was gone without a trace.

I don’t know for sure how long the “carcass” was in the above position, but it was long enough to hear the thud, look outside my window, notice the body, tell an office mate about it and have her look, decide to grab the camera, walk outside and over to the body, take a picture and walk away.

I find it hard to believe it was just knocked out cold. I mean, look at the thing. I’ve seen enough John McCain commercials to know what dead looks like. I’m guessing a maintenance guy or one of the other office building tenants disposed of the body.
