The engagement party in February and attached wedding might seem like old news, but the big date is still over a year away. Lots going on behind the scenes.
Over the last few months we’ve booked the reception site and entertainment, taking care of the party side of the wedding first — we clearly have our priorities straight.
Moving on to one of the more specific details, we selected our cake chef yesterday.
Her name is Dot and she comes recommended through sites like The Knot. Luckily for her, she makes nicer looking wedding cakes than she does Web sites: Cakedot.com. Clearly, she loves her animated GIFs.
I had my doubts when Tiffany led me to the south side of Columbus and into a trailer park called Enchanted Acres. But, as humorous as it is to say, Dot’s mobile home was the nicest in the park. She’s a little older lady that reminded me a lot of my grandma J.
Plus, she makes adult cakes so that’s a plus. Because it’s funny.
The photo on top is an example of her wedding cakes. We decided to go with a square cake similar to the one above, but the decoration will be totally different. And it will have a fourth, larger layer on the bottom. Inside will be “white sweet” cake with raspberry filling.
We opted out of a giant penis on the top because that would have been extra.
