I'm one of the ministers at the church he attended in Charleston and the service for him here was beautiful. There were about 100 people there and about 40 of them were from the bank he worked. So many people had so many amazing things to say about him. I know that death is never easy and so if I can be of any assistance to you, please let me know. This news is effecting me more than I expected... losing someone so young is always a tragedy. Love you brother... I will miss you. I have lost a brother. This news is effecting me more than I expected… losing someone so young is always a tragedy. By all accounts he was one of the few who didn't panic, but stayed calm and collected. For this, I am indebted to him. I was never very close with Spencer throughout our time in the Pike house, but we had a good rapport and he was always cordial and friendly. I spoke with Patrick Hyer last night, who is currently in California, about Spencer. The conversation started out mostly speechless, occassionally punctuated by remarks like "I just don't believe it...." Then Patrick said, "You know it's weird. Here we are all scattered across the country years later and we still all care".
