Baumann was arrested last night near Port Columbus Airport for smuggling a substance knows as “khat” into the United States.
I received a collect call from some jail last night and thought it was a wrong number. But after talking to Taco this morning, who answered his early morning call, I learned the truth.
Apparently, Baumann was approached from Somalians some months ago to transport khat from Europe to Columbus so it may be distributed throughout Ohio.
According to Wikipedia, khat is a plant that when chewed, produces excitement and euphoria.
Baumann took the Somalians up on the offer and caught a red eye to Brussels, Belgium, and back.
Baumann was pulled over speeding away from the airport, probably due to the 72-hour half-life of the drugs chemicals. His bag was checked because he seemed suspicious, according to Taco. That’s when police found the bundles of Khat.

Fister, I dont think its a joke, there was an earlier posting way back during comfest that said one night Baumann had ran into some somalians about smuggling khat, perhaps he followed through on it, but I wouldnt put it past Markus to create and elaborate hoax like this, as I have been the victim of a Markus hoax, need I recall the Blair Witch Conspiracy on me.
