Prior to buying myself an iPod this Christmas, Anywhere.fm probably would have been my favorite site on the Internet. Next to the one you’re reading, of course.
The Web site lets you upload all your MP3’s and then play them from anywhere you have Internet access. What’s more, it lets you share your collections with friends. You can’t download the songs from your friends, because that would be illegal, but you can listen to them.
I have yet to upload any songs and try it myself because I just found it this morning, but if you decide to give the Web site a spin my profile is Sparkus.
Update: After further review, it appears the site is very finicky with the formats of MP3s you can upload. It does not appear to accept MP4s or other variations that music sources like iTunes use. Which means you will have to convert those files to straight MP3s. This added step may or may not lower your opinion of the site.
