She said yes!

Engagement

In the last 10 days I have vacationed in Las Vegas, turned 30, had my brand newish 2007 Civy backed into by a neighbor and most importantly, asked Tiffany to marry me.

It’s been quite a ride.

A Christmas morning brunch set the stage for the event as my grandma J and Tiffany’s Mom, step dad and brother all gathered at our house to open presents.

I used the new dent in my car caused by the rear bumper of my neighbor across the street as an excuse to get Tiffany’s family outside where I garnered their blessings prior to the proposal.

For the actual proposal I wrapped individual sheets of paper in boxes as separate gifts, each sheet containing a word from the phrase “Will you marry me?” The final gift was a sheet with only the question mark on it, which I wrapped in a small box to make her think it was the box which contained the ring. The ring, however, was in her stocking. I removed the ring and handed it to her after all the boxes were opened.

She had no idea it was coming. The only person I told was my grandma J, because it was the diamond with which my grandfather proposed to her that I was given to propose to Tiffany.

At this point the wedding date is way way way up in the air, but will most likely come sometime in 2009.

I’ve uploaded a bunch of new photos, including those from the Vegas trip and Christmas morning, to the gallery. Go check them out.
