Chuck Norris: Huckabee is president

Chuck Norris for AmericaJust when everyone thought the presidential race was as open as Chris Crocker, Chuck Norris has decided the next president of the United States, saving us another year of political annoyances.

Norris endorsed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee for the next U.S. president in his WorldNetDaily column, securing the presidency for the Republicans for another four years.

Chuck Norris doesn’t vote for the president, he tells the nation for whom to vote.

If you dare to stray from the word of Norris, and you’re not quite sure for which candidate to vote, here’s a online quiz that will help align your beliefs with the candidate that represents them most adequately.

Lawn Moaning

Bolens by WTF?I went out to mow the lawn the other day, a job which normally only takes about 20 minutes because my lawn isn’t very big.

It’s nearing winter and I was enjoying the fact that this would be one of the last few times I would have to cut it for the season.

I pull the thing out from the mini shed which is placed awkwardly in the back yard, not quite in the direct center, but not quite pushed to the side fence. I prime it three times, give the chord a crank, it starts, then immediately dies out.

I pull the thing again, nothing.

C-Bus man busted for towing scam

Danny BirtA Columbus man has been indicted on 27 felony counts of grand-theft auto and extortion for running a towing company scam according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Danny Birt’s On-Demand Towing would send letters to businesses in the Short North and other areas offering to tow away illegally parked vehicles. Then, even without a reply from the business, would start towing. His letters to businesses said no response was necessary.

At some of the businesses, Birt posted no towing sign whatsoever.

It’s guys like this that give towing companies a bad name. Or maybe it’s just towing companies that give themselves a bad name. Every experience I’ve had with them has contained a strong undertone of illegality.

Not to mention the carnage that I’ve witnessed occur once a month on Neil Ave. on street sweeping day. Tow trucks assisted by Columbus cops rip cars off the street like madmen around 8 a.m. It’s just ugly.

Baumann’s an ‘amoeba;’ Brings pork

Baumann's happyAfter a month of being M.I.A., Baumann returned Saturday night in full force.

Following the Ohio State vs. Michigan State game Saturday, Meghan and Ryan stopped by with plans of going out to a bar. A few minutes later, Van Culin stopped in with his friend Iker. But Baumann’s arrival trumped them all.

Baumann always shows up with a large amount of party favors, whether it be liquor or peanuts — a fact for which I give him props. But you know it’s gonna be a special evening when he shows up with three plastic bags full of stuff and announces, “I’ve got some chops!”

Right away the tornado that is chef Baumann hit the kitchen and started whipping up his masterpiece.

New strip-club laws make Ohio moral superpower

I don’t know if anyone noticed yet, but Ohio’s new strip club laws went into effect yesterday.

With that news, Ohio leap-frogged right past George W. Bush as a moral authority and is steam rolling right for the pope himself.

Congrats, members of Citizens for Community Values, your Community Defense Act is gonna really whip this state into shape.

By the way, you’ve got to check out their Web site. It’s ridiculous. When I looked there was a font-page item offering study results on schools pushing their “gay agenda.” It’s typical self-righteous do goodery in the name of the bible.

Main Web Site To Be Integrated Into Blog

Blog updates may be slow over the coming days/weeks as I undergo major Web site maintenance.

I have decided to more closely combine the main Web site portion of Sprkus.com with the blog portion. Basically I’ll be moving the main Web site’s contents, like photos and videos, into the blog itself.

I’ve started the process already, as I’m sure you’ve noticed from the thumbnails under the title “From The Gallery” on top of the blog’s sidebar.

What you may not have noticed is a new “Gallery” tab on the top right corner of the blog. This is where you will now go to view the latest photos for the site as well as view photo archives. I’ve only uploaded a few of the photos so far but you can check it out and get a feel of how the new gallery will work. Eventually there will also be other tabs like “Videos” and “other stuff.”

In the end, the blog will become the front page of Sprkus.com and replace the current main section layout. Hopefully the changes are somewhat quick and painless for the Web site’s viewers
