Halloweak

It was Beggar’s night in Upper Arlington tonight, a neighborhood in which we expected a lot of kids.

Just moving into the house a little more than two months ago, Tiffany and I had no idea what to expect. I asked our neighbor if our houses get a lot of trick or treaters and he boastfully replied, “Oh yeah, we get a lot of kids.”

So we carved our pumpkins and spent $40 on four huge bags of candy — the good candy, not dum dums and candy corn. I’m talking about Snickers and M&M’s.

We sit down on the front-porch steps at 6:05 ready to throw candy at hundreds of kids and 90 minutes later, we had only handed out roughly 35 pieces of chocolate.

Beggar’s night on our strip of the UA was a bust.

The kids were supposed to trick or treat from 6-8 p.m., but by 7:30, we had given up and headed back inside.

We have a crap load of candy for ourselves, though. And our jack-o-lanterns were sweet.

What was Tiff’s carving? A candle holder or a walking mummy with his hands up?
