Bill Todd, a Republican lawyer hoping to steal the position of Mayor of Columbus away from Mike Coleman (D), recently launched the following ad on major local radio stations. The ad features the screams of a woman being raped and a guy being shot and is meant to punctuate the problem of crime in Columbus. Did I mention that it has a woman screaming as she’s being raped?
How utterly sick and offensive.
The commercial pitch probably went just like this:
Some Peon: “OK, so we open the radio ad with a woman shrieking as she’s being raped.”
Todd: “Sounds perfect, lets run it on every radio station in Columbus on the half hour. Praise Jesus.”
The sound effect of the guy being shot however, that’s just funny. Was that Homer Simpson?
Absolutely horrible Bill Todd. My bold prediction: You will never be mayor of Columbus. President of the United States, however, that’s another story all together.
The ad is horrifying and disgusting. It also absolutely characteristic of right-wingers at every level, from the president right down to the mayoral level. The only thing they have to sell is fear itself. They need to scare people into voting for them! Along with lying about their policies and cheating on elections, that is. Otherwise, how would they ever win?
