Halloweak

It was Beggar’s night in Upper Arlington tonight, a neighborhood in which we expected a lot of kids.

Just moving into the house a little more than two months ago, Tiffany and I had no idea what to expect. I asked our neighbor if our houses get a lot of trick or treaters and he boastfully replied, “Oh yeah, we get a lot of kids.”

So we carved our pumpkins and spent $40 on four huge bags of candy — the good candy, not dum dums and candy corn. I’m talking about Snickers and M&M’s.

Lawn mower update

I went back to Lowe’s early Saturday afternoon to get some more supplies for my lawn mower problem. I was determined to fix the damn thing and I needed a ratchet set so I could take it apart.

I got the ratchet set along with an extra spark plug and some carburetor cleaner and headed out to the back yard.

I took much of the outside containing plastic off to get down into the main engine and fiddled around with whatever looked like it could move or be removed, blown on, wiped off or just generally adjusted.

Halloween in the suburbs

[singlepic=531,160,120,right]In the continuation of domestication, Tiffany and I broke out the pumpkins and the carving tools last night for a little good old-fashioned healthy Halloween fun.

Healthier than last year, anyway.

While I missed last year’s Dawn of the Keg, it was also nice being lazy. Not having to think of a costume. Not having to decorate and throw a party. Nobody else threw a party, either. At least none to which we were invited.

Tiffany wanted to try and mix it up this year and carve jack-o-lanterns that weren’t your typical face designs — cause she’s crazy like that.

GravatarThis site now supports Gravatars which will add a little more life to the comments section on the end of every post or site page.

Gravatar stands for globally recognized avatar. And an avatar is basically an image that identifies the commenter, such as the commenter’s headshot, logo or animated graphic of a cat shooting a machine gun.

Getting your gravatar is easy, just check the box at the end of the comment form when leaving a comment and along with your e-mail address, it will ask for a password.

You will then receive an e-mail directing you to Gravatar.com, where you will load your image and you’re done.
