I don’t know how the little bastard got into the house. And furthermore, I don’t know how he then traveled down to our basement, but there’s a cricket in our house.
He’s been hanging out down there for the past couple days. He’s not very friendly and he likes to hide a lot.
In that sense, he’s very unlike Jiminy. This guy’s not singing “When You Wish Upon a Star” in his top hat during the twilight hours.
Instead, he has come out of hiding over the last two evenings to delight our ears with a non-stop:
“SSSCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
Thank God the sound is almost entirely muffled from the bedroom.
I don’t know how long he can keep it up. It’s been two nights now.
I don’t hate him. I know he’s just lonely. And probably starving by now.
Maybe he’s saying “FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!”
He will soon be gone.
