Is This Bear Stuffed?

Bear GryllsMan vs. Nature,” a nature survival show hosted by Bear Grylls, has been accused of leading viewers on according to a recent report from BBC News.

For each episode, Grylls was supposedly dropped off in a remote area and, using his survival skills, had to find his way to civilization.

But a crew member says Grylls spent some nights in hotels.

Crew member Mark Weinert said Grylls claimed to be stranded in a desert for one episode of “Man vs. Wild,” called “Born Survivor” in the UK. He was actually in Hawaii and spent some time in a hotel there as well, Weinert said.

On another occasion, the show filmed Grylls building a raft by himself but the crew had assembled it and disassembled it ahead of time to be sure it worked.

Furthermore, “wild” horses Grylls rounded up in another episode were from a trekking facility, Weinert said.

The UK’s Channel 4, which produces the show, said the series was never claimed Grylls experience was of “unaided solo survival.”

It’s too bad that the show isn’t 100% real, but you can be sure Grylls was unaided in a few of his more desperate ratings boosters survival acts:
