I’ve Got Your Pownce Invite Right Here

PowncePownce.com is a recently launched Web site that allows you to share files, links and event info with your friends.

The cool part about the site is that your friend network is completely private. So if you want to share the back up files of the new White Stripes CD, “Icky Thump,” with your friends, you can do so without worrying about others noticing. One would only do that if, of course, your other friends have already purchased the CD and are just too lazy to rip the files to their own computer.

The site also features a small desktop program you can install which will display the latest messages and let you create posts without being logged in though a browser.

The guy behind Pownce is Kevin Rose, the mastermind behind Digg.com, and the buzz surrounding the Web site lately is only overshadowed by the iPhone.

The site, which is still only in Aplha stage, is invite only. Computer nerds are dying to get an invite. Someone’s even selling invites on E-Bay.

Luckily for you, this computer nerd found his way in. So if you want to join the friend network I’ve already started creating, just let me know by posting a comment below.

So far we’ve got four of us signed up.

By the way, Pownce is where I’ll share the video’s that are too hot for the net. Like the incident with Gerrit in his boxers during Comfest I explained in this post.
