A girl fell off a balcony at the University of Virginia’s Pi Kappa Alpha house early Sunday morning. That’s bad. The girl was 17 years old. That’s worse.

The University’s newspaper, The Cavalier Daily, reports that the girl was leaning on the balcony’s railing during a party when it gave way.

The house supposedly had just past a recent inspection and the Pikes claim the girl came with a band which had played at the party that night. Luckily, the girl is in stable condition.

I honestly don’t know how a story similar to this never appeared in The Lantern about a certain Pike house which once stood on 43 E. 15th. “The Beach,” a second-story crevice pretending to be a balcony was always overflowing with stumbling Natty Lite drinkers it shouldn’t have been able to support.
